Crack Drabble - Frozen Ivy

“You'll never be able to prove I did it.”
“Prove you did what, Poison Ivy?”
She whirled about in shock, green eyes going wide at the sight of the figure walking on the lower platform.  His suit hissed as it expelled frosty air, and his red eyes narrowed in slight irritation.
“Oh.” She said in delayed shock.  “It's you.  I thought Batman had already found me.”
“No.” Mr. Freeze answered flatly.
“Well, clearly that is evident.  Do you care to explain to me what you're doing here?  I found this place first, and I'm hiding out here, so unless you clear out, iceberg...”
His slitted eyes narrowed even further.
“I'm passing through.  I have no desire to waste time and energy freezing Joker's brainless idiots, and I'm not in the mood for a fight.”
“Well that's too bad, popsicle boy.” She purred, leaping down to his level.  “Because I'm not feeling generous right now, and you caught me at a bad time.”
He rolled his eyes, crossing his arms in irritation.
“Anything you can grow, I can kill.”  He declared.  She gave him a false pout, lowering the hand she had been on the verge of raising to signal her thick vines from the basement.
“You would give my babies frostbite?”
“If I am forced to, I will.  I would prefer to just leave quietly.”
“There is nothing, Freeze,” she hissed, “That you could do that will make me back d—“
He extended a clenched fist, which he slowly opened, palm up, to reveal a small flower of the most pure white that had ever been seen in Gotham.  Poison Ivy stifled a small gasp.
“A peace offering.” Mr. Freeze said gently.
“Is that...edelweiss?” She whispered.
“The blossom,” he replied, “Of snow.”
He placed the tiny flower in her upturned hands, then took a step back.  She looked down at it for a long moment, then looked back up and gave him a begrudging smile.
“You're not so bad after all, are you, big man?”
She could have sworn the ice just below his eyes darkened for a second, but he immediately swept past her and exited the building through the door at the other end of the room, the blast of icy wind vanishing behind him.  Ivy grinned, tucking the edelweiss behind her ear fondly.
