Canon practice doodles

Just some practice doodles I drew at the beginning of the month, just to get back into the swing of drawing after my scanner had been out of commission due to the death of my laptop. (It can be very disheartening to have that happen, but I needed to get back to drawing anyway, if only because it helps relieve my stress. A lot.)

Ignoring all that negative space toward the top right...

We have a basic headshot sketch of Manchester Black from "Superman Vs. The Elite." Now THAT was a spectacularly wonderful film.  Beautiful, excellently done, and I thoroughly enjoyed Manchester Black as a character. (Mind you, I might be biased, since he's voiced by Robin Atkin-Downes, but who cares. I drew him anyway.) And I dedicate this first ever sketch of Manchester to ChaseYoungIsMine, since I think she's the only other person I know who loves him more than I do.

Beneath our fine English fellow, we have chibi!Deadman fretting over something to chibi!Spectre. After having read Blackest Night and volume one of Brightest Day and getting properly re-acquainted with these two dead detectives (I remember loving the crap out of them years ago, I don't know why the hell I ever left them,) I'm of the personal opinion that they need to be bros. Just sayin'.

Further down, we have chibi doodles of the Red Lanterns, Bleez and Atrocitus. I guess you could say that, thanks to volume one of the Red Lanterns graphic novels, these two are my first ever HATESHIP. 8D *rimshot* *brick'd for bad Lantern puns*

And finally, off to the side, we have Mongul, who is clearly declaring himself to be "too swag for this shit." I'm pretty sure he's overtaken EVERYONE as my favorite DC villain. I'm not totally sure why. But damn if he can't get me laughing like crazy.
