Chapter 8: Second Thoughts
Magneto kept a careful eye on Arial's every move. The boy was doing his best to follow every order to the letter, but today there was definitely something off about his displays of power. There was less force, less anger...less passion. He frowned, pondering on whether or not he should say something to drive up the level of Arial's irritation. In the end, he decided not to, choosing instead to remark upon the quality of the boy's performance at the end of the session. That, if nothing, would drive him to do better.
The last of the flimsy targets shattered under a jetstream of water, and Arial let out a small whoop, punching his fist into the air and grinning in triumph. For a moment, Magneto smiled, ever pleased at his student's progress, but it was short-lived as he turned to address the boy.
"You are slipping." He stated calmly. The grin vanished from Arial's face as his brow knotted in confusion.

Darkness fell over Gotham as night began, a low rumble of ominous thunder in the distance. A solitary face appeared in a grimy window of an old, run-down building, staring out at the sky. The building had been a drug laboratory once, a small one. Now it was all but abandoned, falling into disrepair and coated in dust and mold.
The figure stayed at the window for a while, glancing up and down the stretch of road before the lab, before turning away, swearing angrily.
“A watched pot never boils!” An angry, indignant voice spoke up, about as lecturing as a schoolteacher to a child who didn't care to listen.
Milo turned on his heel and bared his teeth at Erin Knightly.
“Oh, shut up.” He spat. “You're as annoying as Tetch.”
“I won't tolerate such talk about my fiancé, sir!” She snapped.
“Oh, really?” He sneered back at her. “That's pretty tough talk

Chapter 23: Michelle Harker
There aren't many things I would do over if I had the chance. I believe that what we go through changes us, and if we were to talk back any of it, we wouldn't be the same people. But if I could take back how I've treated my sister, how horribly cold and judgmental I've been toward her, I would.
I was waiting to meet Michelle outside the small, family-owned-and-run diner she worked at, hoping to catch her for just a moment on one of her fifteen-minute breaks. I hadn't realized she had gotten a job near the library I worked at, and I wanted a chance to see her again. I had already apologized over our brief, awkward phone call, but I wanted to do so again, in person, so she knew I was sincere. As it stood, however, things did not seem like she would be exiting the diner any time soon. Bracing myself, I sucked in a breath and walked inside. It was a dingy little place with a somewhat gloomy atmosphere,

Desolate, icy solitude. That was the fate awaiting all who were sentenced to imprisonment on the moon. Not everypony knew that, but then, not everypony would stop to ponder what sort of crimes were so extreme that banishment to such a place would be warranted.
But one pony knew all too well.
After all, she was still becoming accustomed to her dark, frigid prison and judgment of exile.
Time was starting to hold little meaning for Princess Luna. She could barely keep track of the hours anymore, now that her world was reduced to a dark void. Not even her beloved moon in which she dwelled illuminated the darkness for her, and any light she could generate with a simple spell remained centered on the tip of her horn. She was left with nothing but empty, cold shadows. Empty, cold shadows...and memories. Memories that pierced her heart and haunted her spirit.
In her mind, she could see her sister—kind, strong, and loving Celestia, with whom she h

It was late at night. Down in the sewers of New York, there was a mutant turtle named Leonardo who couldn't find it in himself to calm down. He was pacing restlessly in and out of the kitchen, checking if Michelangelo had come back. Not that he needed to; he would hear the door when his youngest brother would arrive into the lair. But it was late, and Mikey had been gone a long time. Leo kicked the nearest chair in frustration.
"There's no point in getting worked up, Leo", the purple-clad turtle Donnie said from his corner of the lair. He was in his lab, playing around with some weird substances inside the many phials he had scattered all over his working space. Don picked up a pipette and added another weird-looking substance into the phial he was holding, and purple smoke s

And technology hates me.
I'm currently logged in on my husband's computer to let you all know that, no, we have not yet heard back about my laptop, and the other night, my cell phone decided to commit suicide.
I knew the phone was nearing the end of its life as it was, since a lot of the buttons had stopped working properly, but recently, the power button that switched the phone on and off decided to stop working.
And then the other night, right as I was in the middle of sending a text message to =the-dragon-childe, the phone shut itself off--it "zombied", a term I'm sure some of you will recognize from earlier years when my previous cell phone would shut itself off and on at random--and I have been unable to turn it back on since. So I am, in essence, without a phone. Thankfully, my contract with Verizon is up, and Yezzy and I are probably just going to get our own plan with Sprint, which will shave money off our total cell phone bill, partially because we'll finally be on the same carrier and plan. We still have things to finalize and whatnot, and I'll probably still be without a phone for a few more days, but we're getting that worked out.
So I apologize if I frightened anyone because you were unable to reach me yesterday and/or today. To those of you who DO have my cell phone number, please send me a note and remind me of what your number is? I'll probably be keeping my same number, but I won't have my contacts stored, so I just want to know whose number is whose, since I don't remember them off the top of my head.
NOW...on a happier note...I have finished all of my Christmas shopping and gifts are wrapped. I also sent out a few gifts to some of my friends on here! I mailed them all yesterday, and they should all arrive within three days, roughly speaking.
Those of you who should be expecting something in the mail are =ShadOBabe, =the-dragon-childe, ~Little-Red-XOXO, *Lycan-Fang, *ChaseYoungIsMine, =a-little-odd, and ~VintagePoison.
I also have a gift for ~ThexDarkenedXLight but I'll be giving her her gift in-person. At least, that's my hope. I know these next couple of weeks are going to be rather busy for her as well as Yezz and I, so if worst comes to worst, I may just have to drop her gift off at her house.
That's all for now! 'Ta lovelies!
Just wanted to let you all know I may be offline for the next few days. My laptop's been acting up for weeks, but this past week it's really been having issues, so Yezzy and I are going to take it to get it looked at, see if something can't be figured out, and that means that I'm going to be without it for about three or four days. So the chances are good I may not be online a lot, if at all. If I DO get on, it will be because I'm using someone else's computer, and my time will probably be limited. Just wanted to give you all a heads-up.
I'll talk to you all later!
